Online IEEE Entrepreneurship Workshop for Scientists and Engineers from Africa (September 2021)

Dr. Surya Raghu was the director of an online Entrepreneurship Workshop for Scientists and Engineers from Africa conducted by IEEE Entrepreneurship in collaboration with IEEE Kenya and IEEE Uganda during the month of September 2021.  About 20 participants from Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa attended the sessions two days (Tue/Thu) a week for 4 weeks and learned about the various aspects of taking an idea to the market.  Several speakers including Ken Stouffer, David Sample, Mercy Kinobwisho, Hanae Bezad and Solomon Kalega with experience in start-ups provided valuable insights into development of ideas, market analysis, intellectual property, finance, sales and marketing and resources available in Africa for start-ups.  Final presentations were video recorded for judging by a panel from IEEE Entrepreneurship.
