A Training Workshop on Research Commercialization Impact Assessment was recently organized by UN-ESCWA Technology Center and The Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT)-Egypt in Cairo, during Nov. 20-21, 2017. Participants who attended this workshop came from Technology Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Offices from Universities and Research Institutions, other University officials and representatives from the Ministry of Education. While establishing clear metrics at different levels for the Research Commercialization Impact was the main theme, other topics such as IP and Patenting Strategies for Universities, Science Advice and Policy Interface and role of entrepreneurship in successful commercialization of ideas from Universities were also discussed in this bi-lingual (Arabic and English) workshop.
